The beginning of a dream

This is our first blog entry at Lomplay! If you are reading this is for two main reasons. First, as a creative you have entered into the decentralized media era so congratulations. You are already far ahead the rest of the world's notion of the direction of this amazing industry. You might also be here because you have heard about the tons of efforts we are making to improve the creative digital ecosystem. We plan these posts to work as a journal of adventures and ventures.

First off, we want to say thank you for taking the time to read us through. Whether you make part of the Meadia and Entertainment ecosystem or you are just curious about what we are cooking here, this is definitely the place yo can check on us.

As the title says, the journey began as a dream of our founders. They witnessed the flourishing of the DLT (Distributed Ledger Technologies) ecosystem and learned about its capabilities. They envisioned several ways of using this technology to empower individuals to take their ideas further.

We want you to be able to put your projects on the frontpage and monetize it without requesting access nor being curated by anyone. You might be wondering how. We don't need to get into the details of the intersection of blockchains and entertainment (we might create some future posts touching base on that though). What you need to understand is that we have managed to create tools that allow you to generate funding for your pieces and trace the usage of your content. As in any other industry, the media and entertainment distribution scheme is based on the collective work of several individuals to take someone's creation to a final user. But creative assets can't be compared to other products or services. Due to the high risk involved, there needs to be a high profit sharing that goes beyond the expected giving the majority of the stakes to big whales most of the times. We discovered that there are tools you can use not to use those whale's money to invest in your own creative work.

Why do I need that? The answer is pretty straightforward. It is a life decision. You can definitely go ahead and push all your energy to fit into the standard value chain ecosystem. It is a century old business that has brought some of the most amazing creators ever seen. We believe however, it has also left behind some of greatest. This is due to the ability some individuals have to decide what is best for the masses. Although algorithms are doing a great job recommending what you "might" like based on your patterns, there is still someone pushing the button to adjust this to happen in a desired way.

We believe people should be able to decide what they enjoy. We also believe creators don't need to give away ownership to reach their audiences promptly.

Thus, we are here working 24/7 to make that happen.
